This past Thursday, Jan. 31, the fourth season of “LOST” premiered on ABC.
After a torturous hour-long recap of the first three seasons to catch new viewers up to date, the episode finally got rolling.
This season however began with a switch up of how the flashbacks were shown. As opposed to flashing back in a character’s life, it flashed to the future.
The flashes to the future started with a high speed chase, ending in the police surrounding the vehicle and a slow reveal of Hurley as the driver. Cops order him to drop to the ground, but he makes a run for it. Not more than a few seconds later, he’s caught and drug away, screaming “Don’t you know who I am? I’m one of the Oceanic Sic. I’m one of the Oceanic SIX!!!”
Flashing back to the present and the island, the story line continued with the survivors walking around aimlessly on the beach of the island, waiting for their so called “rescuers” to come. Not too surprisingly, these rescuers had other intentions.
Overall, the episode was fast moving with plenty of dramatic dialogue, longing stares and people being speared with hunting knives (Naomi). In short, LOST struck gold with this season’s premiere.
“LOST” moves to its regular time on Thursdays at 9 p.m. starting Feb. 7.
