The Halloween Fun Run was held recently at the Morris Recreation Center and the results are in. In the Men’s Independent Division, there was a three way tie for first place. Cody Hughes, Robert Reed, and Tyler Tyndell each had times of (4.27)
In the Women’s Independent Division, the winner was Kate Donovan with a time of (6.18) In the Men’s Greek Division, the winner was Kevin Wangler with a time of (5.12) In the Women’s Greek Division, Karina Peake was the top finisher with a time of (6.22)
There were awards given out for best costumes in the Halloween Fun Run the results have been announced. Tyler Tyndell who dressed up as swimmer Michael Phelps was the winner in the Men’s Independent Division. In the Women’s Independent Division, Savannah Brookings who dressed up as a cat won this division. In the Men’s Greek Division, the winner was Justin Kirk who dressed up as a Pee Wee Soccer Player.
In the Women’s Greek Division, the winner was Nina Derrick who dressed up as a Referee.
Mike Chadee, the assistant director of Intramural Sports at Texas A&M University-Commerce said before the Halloween Fun Run was held, ” We encourage all participants to dress up in costumes.” ” It’s an opportunity for people participating in the Greek cups to earn double points.” ” You get two points if you’re dressed up in a costume.” ” We award points for best costume and fastest time.” “We award one point for those not dressed in a costume.”
Currently the leaders in the Greek Cup standings are: Sigma Chi and Alpha Phi.
The Greek Cup for those who may not know according to Chadee, is a Fraternity and Sorority Standings based on Intramural Participation and Success.
Intramurals will be having a checkers tournament on Wednesday November 12, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. They also will be having a spades tournament on Thursday November 13, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. For more information on either tournament contact Mike Chadee or go by the MRC.
