UPD investigating New Pride thefts

A string of burglaries took place in the New Pride Apartments at Texas A&M University-Commerce during the Thanksgiving break, with no clear indication of a potential suspect.

Reports show that during the Thanksgiving break there were five different burglaries in New Pride, each showing no signs of forced entry. Some victims reported that doors, which they locked upon leaving, had been found unlocked when they returned. University Police Department Lieutenant Jason Bone said the similarities in cases could indicate a Residence Assistant (RA) might be involved, but he also said UPD is looking at every possible angle.

“We certainly aren’t ruling anything out,” Bone said. “But no sign of forced entry could mean doors were left open, or that they jimmied the door without leaving pry marks too.  Again, we don’t know at this point.”

Among the items stolen were multiple televisions and a special edition Xbox 360. UPD is currently investigating these burglaries and hopes to shed some light on the situation. The burglaries are currently under investigation.
