The Texas Rangers got bombed 11-3 on Friday night at Boston’s historic Fenway Park. They followed that up with a 5-3 loss on Saturday that the Rangers led 3-2 going to the bottom of the eighth inning. Then on Sunday with the game in control, the Rangers again found a way to blow a game after leading 5-0. The Red Sox scored six runs in the seventh and eighth innings en route to a 6-5 win and a 3-0 series lead. To make matters worse relief pitcher C.J. Wilson walked in the winning run.On Monday, the Red Sox beat the Rangers 8-3 to sweep the weekend series. I’ve ran out of excuses for this Rangers team that seems to be crumbling to pieces. Detroit is next on the Ranger schedule as the Tigers will host the Rangers Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The Tuesday and Wednesday games are at night, while Thursday’s game is a daytime game. Pitchers for the Rangers will be Vicente Padilla, Luis Mendoza, and Jason Jennings who’s yet to win a game for the Rangers.Detriot’s three starters will be Justin Verlander, Kenny Rogers, and J. Bonderman. On paper this is a series the Rangers could win but probably won’t. Detriot was picked along with Cleveland to have a great chance to win the AL Central Division before the season started. However the Tigers are 6-13 and in last place in their division. With the Rangers coming to town, Detriot will probably get well in a hurry and you know they will be able to score runs on this Ranger pitching staff, that’s starting to look as bad as last years. The Rangers have last place all to themselves right now. They will come home to play the Minnesota Twins Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and one would hope start winning some of these games they have found ways to blow on the road. The Rangers are at least scoring runs pretty good, but that pitching has got to improve. I know I sound like a broken record here, but indeed the pitching must improve or fans you know the rest. Last place is where the Rangers will stay. One other thing I will mention about Saturday’s game, Manny Ramirez hit homerun number 496. That homerun snapped a 3-3 tie and gave the Red Sox a 5-3 win. With the Rangers struggling in baseball, the Mavericks trailing the New Orleans Hornets 1-0 after losing 104-92 Saturday night in New Orleans, it looks all of us are going to have to get behind the Dallas Stars. The NHL team just knocked off the defending Stanley Cup Champions the Anaheim Mighty Ducks in six games.
