Kappa Delta Chi serves community

With a vision to serve the community and provide sisterhood for women while using values of unity, honesty, integrity and leadership, Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc. has been a part of the University for just over two decades.

Senior public relations major, Jenny Zeilfelder is the president of A&M-Commerce’s chapter of Kappa Delta Chi.

Having been in existence for 21 years, Kappa Delta Chi is one of the youngest sororities both locally and nationally. In order to become a member of this sorority, interested females on campus must receive a bid, or formal invitation to pledge.

Upon accepting the bid, the pledge must participate in an 8-week alcohol-free rush. During this time they will complete a minimum of 30 community service hours, which must include both a fundraiser and service event. Prior to the pledging process, they must also have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher and meet other requirements that are specified.

What truly sets Kappa Delta Chi apart from all other campus organizations is that they are multicultural, are service-oriented and take pride in their academics.

Upcoming events for this year include Race for the Cure, their annual rush, Celebrate the Children and a barbecue at Gee Lake. They are also looking forward to enjoying continued academic success.
