DETROIT – Waco-based band Ethan Durelle headlines the fifth annual Scatfest Music Festival, Saturday, May 3 at The Detroit Tabernacle in Detroit. Seven other bands are also set to perform, including local acts Addielou, Cody Phifer and Almost Heroic; Back After Dawn of Wylie, Somebody’s Darling of Dallas, Clairmont of College Station and The Hope Trust of Denton. Tickets are $5 to the all-ages event. Doors open at 2:30 p.m with music starting at 3. “This year’s line-up is jam-packed with a wide variety of great artists from all over the state,” Joey Dean, organizer of the event, said. “We’re hoping this will be the best Scatfest to date.” After playing Texas for the past five years and following a sabbatical in 2006, headliner Ethan Durelle released their second full length Talks to the Dark in 2007. Alternative Press Magazine hailed the album as “one of the best out-of-left-field rock records of 2007.” Members include Evan Lecker, Chris Mann, Jeff Weathers and Paris-native Theo Mclemore. “We are fortunate to have such a great band like Ethan Durelle headlining this year,” Dean said. ” They have played in Paris many times before to great fanfare.” The rest of the bill consists of different styles and genres of music, keeping the festival eclectic and well-balanced, Dean said. “From Americana to Rock and everything in between, there will be something for everyone at Scatfest,” Dean said.
