Volleyball drops two matches

In its final non-conference match for the season, the Texas A&M University-Commerce volleyball team lost to Harding, 30-23, 30-15, 27-30, 30-16 on Saturday.

In the loss, three A&M-C players posted double-digit kills as senior Colleen Favaro led the attack with a team-high 15 and freshman Terra Ousley had 12 kills and seven blocks in the loss.

With the loss, A&M-Commerce falls to 9-17 on the season. Harding improved its record to 22-9 with the win as they hit .280 and recorded 12 service aces in the win.

The Lions return home for their next two matches, the first being on Thursday at 7 p.m. against Southwestern Oklahoma in the A&M-C Field House.

Despite hitting at a .212 clip, the A&M-C volleyball team dropped a 30-28, 30-27, 30-22 decision to host Texas Woman’s on Thursday night.

A&M-C (9-16, 3-7 LSC) was out hit by TWU .270 to .212. A&M-C senior Colleen Favaro had a match-high 23 kills in the loss. Teammates Brittany Williams had a match-high 45 assists while Lauren Flynn had a match-high 26 digs.

In the first game, TWU out hit A&M-C .246 to .183. Favaro had eight kills to lead the A&M-C attack. In game two, Favaro added 10 more kills and hit at a .208 percentage. In the decisive third game, after an early exchange of tie scores, TWU raced out to an 18-11 advantage.

A&M-C would get as close as five down the stretch. In game three, the TWU attack had three different players with four kills and Favaro and freshman Rachel Lance paced an A&M-C attack with five kills.
