When Commerce residents are looking for somewhere to eat, Panda Chinese is the perfect place to partake in Asian cuisine.
This establishment is one of two Chinese food restaurants found in Commerce and provides many great food opportunities for Chinese food lovers.
When you eat at Panda, try the lunch specials that are offered at exceptionally low prices. Typically, lunch specials range anywhere from $4.99 to $6.99 and are served with a chicken salad, a choice of either hot and sour soup or egg drop soup, an entrée and fried rice.
Diners also receive a complimentary fortune cookie at the end of the meal.
Also available are dinner entrees such as Mongolian beef, Moo Goo Gai Pan, sweet and sour pork as well as hot and spicy dishes.
One of the greatest selling points in Panda Chinese’s food is the steamed dumplings, which are served with dipping sauce and come in a very large portion size.
The dumplings consist of a chicken stuffing and vegetables wrapped in won ton wrappers and which are then steamed to perfection.
These dumplings are comparable to upper-class Chinese food resturants such Pei Wei or P.F. Chang’s that are located in Dallas.
Also, diners will be impressed with the quality of ingredients found within the dishes at Panda.
The green onions found within the Mongolian beef are so fresh and cooked perfectly so that they literally crunch when they are eaten. Dishes that feature water chestnuts and snap peas also offer a firm texture that is uncommon in many Chinese food eating establishments.
Another plus is the service. The servers are always eager to help customers, and the time that it takes to get your food is comparable to many fast food places. You also rarely have to wait to get a table due to the amount of tables that are available.
Another great thing about this restaurant is that the hours that they are open are very compatible with student hours and are open for a late lunch, and extend their lunch menu prices until 4 p.m.
Overall, Panda Chinese offers a wide variety of menu options for both university students and local residents with a reasonable price range.
Dessert connoisseurs will be disappointed, however, because they do not have the option of ordering dessert.
We recommend that you try the lunch menu for a less costly experience and definetely order the steamed dumplings for a change from American cuisine.
The eatery is located in downtown Commerce on the square at 1207 Alamo Street.
