Dropping classes becomes just a little easier

At the start of each school year at Texas A&M University-Commerce, students register for classes. They have until census day, which is the twelfth class day, to drop an un-wanted course without filling out paper work or getting signatures from their instructor.

For students who choose to drop after census day, they must go through a process.

Eligible students can access their myLeo and select the Drop a Course link. The courses the student is enrolled in will appear and the student will select the course to drop, give a reason, read the important information regarding dropping a course and then click submit. After submitting the request, students must wait on approval from the instructor.

Instructors can go into their myLeo and click on the drop management link to approve the drop that the student has requested.

Once the instructor has approved, an email is sent to the Registrar’s Office. The Registrar’s Office will process the drop and then a notification via-email is sent to the student confirming their request has been approved.

If a student has an advising hold or is an athlete, they must complete the drop form and acquire signatures. Students can access a drop form at the Registrar’s Office or online at http://www.tamu-commerce.edu/home/registrar/pdfs/dropform.pdf.

Students with holds will have to get them cleared before the drop can be processed.

Students wishing to drop all of their courses for the semester should complete a withdrawal form located at, http://www.tamu-commerce.edu/home/registrar/withdrawl.asp.
