“Reign Over Me” a must see

Cast: Adam Sandler, Don Cheadle, Jada Pinkett Smith, Liv Tyler and Donald Sutherland

Director: Mike Binder

Rating: R, for language and some sexual references.

Release Date: March 23, 2007

This film tells the story of two college roommates who have lost touch with one another and then once again become an intragul part of each other lives.

Charlie Fineman, played by Adam Sandler, is suffering mentally from the loss of his family and Alan Johnson, played by Don Cheadle, is there to help his old roommate through the most difficult part of his life, the healing process.

Overall, this film is outstanding. Critics have been saying that the plot and storyline for this film are lacking, however I disagree. The plot to this film is simple, but this is done on purpose by director and screenwriter, Mike Binder. The basic plot allows audience members to enjoy the acting abilities of both Cheadle and Sandler as well as the supporting cast of females.

The plot does have a few twists and turns that are not revealed until later in the film. Audience members that go into the film unconvinced of Sandler’s acting talents in a serious role will not be at all disappointed and will also be treated to moments of hilarity between Sandler and Cheadle.

This film is a great movie and I would encourage anyone looking for a serious film or an entertaining date movie to go watch it. It is worth the price of movie ticket to see it at theatres now.
