“Pain without love, Pain can’t get enough, Pain I like it rough, ’cause I’d rather feel pain than nothing at all.”… shut up!
After watching the band at 102.1 Edgefest over the weekend in Dallas and listening to the CD, it’s pains me to call them a real band.
Come on, mainstream radio USA, why is it that you feel the need to continue to pump pain-loving hatred into the ears and hearts of the same youth that chooses to cut themselves because they don’t have the latest gaming console?
One X is the latest installment of the Three Days Grace album collection. As I listened to the CD, it seemed as if they used the same underlying tone and feeling for every song.
I highly recommend against purchasing this album. That is unless you would like a newer CD that uses the same musical tactics that can be heard from bands such as Creed, Nickelback, and Fuel.
Like I mentioned before, every song seems to sound the same boring, “I’m crying out to the world for the pain that I see on the TV that doesn’t come from making hundreds of thousands of dollars from being an artist.” The entire CD, in my opinion, is a redundant message over and over again.
As far as the musical talent of the members of Three Days Grace, they are not bad. Making up the Toronto based band is Adam Gontier (vocals, guitar), Brad Walst (Bass), Neil Sanderson (Drums) and Barry Stock (Guitar).
With all the talent between these four guys, my question is why aren’t you happier or at least stronger about your music.?
The lyrics that make up most of One X lead the listener to believe that life is so rough and that it would be much easier to just give in to the pain.
What has caused this band and the others like them to sell out to the “emo-nation” and make the world seem so difficult and that pain is a good thing and they should just give up?
Like I said, the talent that is Three Days Grace musically is exceptional, but I just wish they would have chosen to channel this talent into making more original sounding songs and stronger lyrics.
