Well folks…

Well folks, here it is, the time of the year all you NFL fans have been waiting for. The time of year where husbands tell their wives to vacate the house for three hours.

That’s right it’s NFL regular season time, where the top six teams in each conference at the end of the year, play for the right to advance to the Super Bowl and win the NFL championship.

Locally how do our Dallas Cowboys stack up?

Well it’s hard to say, but I’m willing to bet all you readers that the Cowboys will be 10-6 in the NFC East and be a wildcard team.

Philadelphia will win the division with an 11-5 record, but second place for this Cowboy’s team seems very possible.

If the Dallas defense plays up to it’s potential like Wade Phillips, the Cowboys new head coach thinks they will, then watch out, the Cowboys could get first in the division.

The big question in Big D is will the Cowboys win a playoff game or two for the first time in 10 years? The answer fans is yes, they will, but the bad news is it will probably be just one game. That means no Super Bowl for the Cowboys for 12 straight seasons.

But considering the Cowboys were 9-7 the past two seasons and made the playoffs last year only to lose that heartbreaking game in Seattle 21-20 when a certain quarterback fumbled a snap on the winning field goal attempt that would have given Dallas the victory. 10 and 6 and one playoff win is not bad, not bad at all.

Now all they have to do is go 10-6 and win a playoff game, that seems very possible if the offense led by Tony Romo, Julius Jones, Terrell Owens, and Terry Glenn live up to their capabilities.

I’m going out on a limb here by saying this, but Romo will be the most improved quarterback in the league.

So if the offensive line does it ‘s part and protects Romo, then this Cowboy team might even win more than one playoff game. New York’s Giants will finish third in the NFC East, with Washington finishing in last. And yes, the Cowboys will beat the Giants this Sunday.
