Police make arrests in Monroe Street robberies

Commerce Police Department has made three arrests in connection with the robberies that occurred along Monroe Street in late November.

Detectives were able to obtain arrest warrants on three individuals that have alleged to have participated in the two robberies and one attempted robbery along Monroe Street. The robberies occurred between Nov. 25 and Nov. 28. The victims reports the suspects approached them and demanded their wallets. The suspects took the victims money and threw their wallets back to them. In the attempted robbery, the victim resisted and was struck in the face by one of the suspects.

So far, the following suspects have been arrested and charged with one count of robbery. Brian Henry, 19; Gabrielle Blakely, 19; Roderick Luckey, 20.

All were transported to Hunt County Criminal Justice Center after their arrests for arraignment. As of Jan. 26, all three were still incarcerated in Hunt County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are probable. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Steve Scott with Commerce Police Department at 903-886-1139.
