Club offers home for "Monday Night Football"

Students and staff can now watch Monday night football in The Club in the Sam Rayburn Student Center every week for free.
The Club offers free popcorn and, for some of the bigger games, free wings. There are also 50 cents drinks and $1 hot dogs every week.
"There are not that many places where you can enjoy one of the most popular football nights with such a great deal," Club Coordinator Wayne Grabow said.
It is offered to students, because it is an easily marketable event. Seeing as how it is such a good deal, The Club coordinators said they feel all students should be allowed to enjoy it.
The Club also gives away gifts other than free food.
"We give away two hats, two shirts, two key chains and two jerseys," Grabow said.
This has been a draw for some students.
"I go for the free food and the opportunity to win a free jersey," junior criminal justice major Ben Wise said. "I have yet to win anything, but there's always next week."
Some students come to enjoy more than some of the free amenities.
"I go for the environment," junior radio/television major Myles Eugene said. "I like to be around people who know football, and I can argue the game and facts with them."
Fellowship with like-minded sports fans is not the only reason Eugene comes to watch the games.
"The food is a big draw to me coming here every Monday night as well," Eugene said.
According to Grabow, this is the first NFL season they have had any programs like this. It has been done every Monday since the start of the season.
Grabow hopes to keep this going for as long as The Club is open.
